Mary: I am a teacher of the Deaf and this is my fifth year of teaching. I received my BA and MA in Deaf Education at Fresno State University. My first year of teaching I worked at the residential school CSDF, California School for the Deaf Fremont. I taught sixth grade English and loved it! Then due to family circumstances, I moved to Hanford and taught there for four years. My first year in Hanford I was an itinerant teacher and worked with deaf and hard of hearing kids ages kindergarten to high school. My second through fifth year, my job was split. In the morning I would teach an ASL based preschool class and then in the afternoon I would go on home visits with infants ranging from birth to three years of age. The latter, was family centered and my role depended on the families' interests and needs. I currently work part time as a DHH infant teacher. I have a loving, supportive husband of almost 4 years and a beautiful baby girl.
